# Connect Claude and other AI apps

> Ask Claude about your revenue, occupancy, memberships and schedule by connecting it to Session (MCP connector). ChatGPT and other AI assistants on request.

Who can do this: admins only.

Connect an AI assistant to Session and ask it about your venue in plain English: "How did September compare to August?", "When are we quietest?", "Which sessions have space this weekend?". It reads the same figures as [Reports](/docs/reports), for your venue only.

## Connect Claude

<Steps>
<Step>
In [Settings → Data](/go/admin/settings/data), copy the address under **Connected AI apps**. It's `https://bookasession.org/api/mcp`.
</Step>
<Step>
In Claude, open **Settings → Connectors**, choose **Add custom connector**, paste the address and name it Session.
</Step>
<Step>
Select **Connect**. Sign in with your Session login and allow access when asked. You're sent back to Claude.
</Step>
<Step>
Start a new chat and ask something like "What venue am I connected to?" to check it works.
</Step>
</Steps>

Claude is supported today. To use ChatGPT or another assistant that supports MCP connectors, get in touch and we'll enable it.

<Callout variant="warning">
Use `bookasession.org`, not `www.bookasession.org`. The `www` address redirects, and the connection fails.
</Callout>

## What it can see

The assistant can read:

- **Business summary** - revenue, refunds, bookings, sessions run and occupancy, compared with the previous period
- **Revenue breakdown** - over time, by payment type, or add-on sales
- **Occupancy** - by session, your busiest and quietest times, and when customers book
- **Memberships and vouchers** - members per tier, bundle and gift voucher take-up, and how much voucher value is still to be spent
- **Sessions** - dates and times, spaces booked and left, for up to a month at a time

It can't see customers' names, emails or phone numbers, and it can't change anything: no bookings, sessions or settings. Amounts are in your venue's currency and times in your venue's timezone.

## Revoke access

Every admin who connects appears under **Connected AI apps** with the app and when it was last used. Select **Revoke** to stop that person's app working with your venue straight away, and **Allow again** to undo it.

## Common questions

1. **Can staff connect?** Not yet. Connecting needs an admin login, because the reports it reads are admin-only.

2. **Does it work with my main login if I run more than one venue?** It connects to the venue your login belongs to. To ask about another venue, connect with that venue's admin login.

3. **Is my venue's data used to train AI models?** That depends on your AI app's own settings and terms, not Session. Check its privacy settings; your data goes to it under your account, in the same way as downloading a report.

4. **The figures differ from my Reports page.** Check the dates. The assistant uses whole days in your venue's timezone, so ask for the same range you picked on the Reports page.

5. **It says access was revoked.** An admin selected **Revoke** for your app. Ask them to select **Allow again** in [Settings → Data](/go/admin/settings/data).

6. **It says AI connections aren't switched on.** They've been turned off for your venue. Get in touch if you want them back.
