# Email marketing plans and stats

> Your first broadcast is free, then plans start at £10/month for 5,000 emails with unlimited contacts. Change plan, check your allowance and read open rates.

Who can do this: admins only.

Marketing emails run on a monthly plan sized by emails sent, with unlimited contacts. [Automated emails](/docs/emails-automated) never need a plan. To write a broadcast, see [Email marketing](/docs/email-marketing).

## Where you stand

A line at the top of the [Marketing page](/go/admin/email/marketing) shows your next step:

- **Build your list first** - under 20 subscribers, it points you at [growing your list](/docs/email-marketing-audience#growing-your-subscriber-list), with **Import your list** and **Sign-up form** buttons and a **See plans** link. If you've never sent a broadcast, it reminds you the first one is free: try the builder and send yourself a test (tests are always free and don't use up your free email), then save the real send for when your list has grown.
- **Your first email is free** - your first broadcast costs nothing, whatever its size. Pick a plan when you want to send again.
- **Choose a plan to send** - after that first email. You can change or cancel anytime.
- **Free during early access** - send at no charge until the date shown.
- **Email plan** - your monthly price, allowance used this month, and roughly how many sends are left at your current subscriber count.

If few customers have opted in, it also links to the setting to [change how you ask](/docs/email-marketing-audience#soft-opt-in).

## Plans and your monthly allowance

Plans count **emails per month**, not sends - one broadcast uses one email per recipient:

**emails per month = subscribers × sends per month**

A list of 2,800 subscribers emailed twice a month is about 5,600 emails, so the 5,000 plan wouldn't cover it and the 10,000 plan would.

| Plan | Emails per month | Price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 5,000 | 5,000 | £10/month |
| 10,000 | 10,000 | £15/month |
| 25,000 | 25,000 | £20/month |
| 50,000 | 50,000 | £30/month |

Plans show in your venue's currency. US, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand dollars and euros each have their own set price, not a conversion. Once billing is set up your currency is locked - see [International venues](/docs/international).

## Change your plan

<Steps>
  <Step>On [Email → Marketing](/go/admin/email/marketing), click **Change plan** on the plan line at the top of the page.</Step>
  <Step>Pick the plan you want and click **Switch to this plan**. Your current plan is marked.</Step>
</Steps>

It takes effect immediately. Nothing is charged when you switch: Stripe applies the difference to your next invoice, and moving down credits it. If you've already sent more this month than a smaller plan allows, its card says so - you can switch, but can't send until the month rolls over.

<Callout variant="note">
**Change plan** and **Manage billing** do different jobs. Change plan switches your allowance. Manage billing opens Stripe, where you can update your card, download invoices and cancel.

## Read your stats

Figures at the top of the Marketing page:

- **Subscribers** - how many customers are on your marketing list.
- **Subscribed** - what share of all your contacts that is.
- **Sent this month** - marketing emails sent so far this month.
- **Deliverable** - subscribers you can reach, excluding bounced and complained addresses.

Each sent broadcast shows **Delivered**, **Opened** and **Bounced**; click it for more:

- **Delivered** - the share the email reached. Below 100% means addresses bounced or weren't sent, not a fault with your email.
- **Opened** - the share who opened it, counted once per person.
- **Clicked** - the share who clicked a link, counted once per person.
- **Unsubscribed** - people who opted out from this broadcast.
- **Bounced** - addresses the email couldn't be delivered to.
- **Audience** - the recipient group it went to, under the recipient count.

## Common questions

1. **I'm told I need a bigger plan, but I've only sent one email.** One broadcast to a big list can use most of a month's allowance.

2. **How do I move to a bigger plan? I can only see an option to cancel.** You're in Manage billing, which is Stripe's page. Use **Change plan** on the plan line at the top of the Marketing page.

3. **Do booking confirmations and reminders count towards my allowance?** No. Only broadcasts from the Marketing page count.

4. **A broadcast shows 0% opened - is that right?** Open tracking started in July 2026, so earlier broadcasts show 0% even though people read them; Delivered is unaffected. For a recent one, get in touch and we'll check it.
