Booking a session

How do I book a session with The Beacon?

Pick a date from the calendar, choose an available time slot, enter your details, and complete payment if the session is paid. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to manage the booking.

Do I need an account to book?

Not if you have not booked here before. You can book as a guest using just your email address. If you already have an account with that address you are asked to sign in first, and an account makes managing future bookings easier.

Can I book the same session every week automatically?

No. Bookings are made one at a time, so pick the date and time you want on each occasion. Anything you have already booked is listed on your account page.

How far ahead can I book?

For regular sessions you can book up to 90 days ahead. Dates further out appear on the booking page closer to the time.

Members can book further ahead - see memberships.

How late can I book?

Bookings close when the session starts. After that, the session shows as "Booking is now closed".

What payment methods are accepted?

Payment methods are set by the venue and vary by region, typically card payments, with mobile wallets and local bank-debit options where the venue has enabled them. Memberships and Bundles unlock reduced prices automatically when you are signed in.

Changes and cancellations

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes. Use the manage link in your confirmation email to reschedule up to 24 hours before the session starts, or to cancel up to 24 hours before the session starts. Paid bookings are compensated with reusable account credit, which you can spend on a future booking.

Some sessions have their own rules. The exact rule for a session is shown when you book, and in your confirmation email.

What happens if a session is cancelled?

You will get an email letting you know. Any payment is automatically returned as reusable account credit, which you can spend on a future booking. There is nothing you need to do.

Some sessions have their own rules. The exact rule for a session is shown when you book, and in your confirmation email.

Can I change a private hire booking?

Private hire bookings can only be changed by the venue. Contact The Beacon to make any changes or to cancel. Adding or removing spaces on a private hire booking is always done by The Beacon.

Memberships

What does a membership include?

The Beacon offers one membership.

MembershipIncluded sessionsBooking ahead
Monthly Membership4 a month30 days

Can members book earlier than everyone else?

Monthly Membership members can book 30 days further ahead than non-members. Earlier dates appear on the booking page once you are signed in.

Do included sessions roll over?

Yes. Anything you have not used carries into the next period, up to one period's worth. It does not build up beyond that, so the most you can have in one period is twice your usual allowance. Sessions carried over last one period: if you use your usual allowance in a period, nothing carries into the next, even if you had sessions carried over. Sessions only carry over from a period you were a member for the whole of. If you book ahead into a later month or week, those bookings count against its usual allowance, and anything carried over becomes available once that period starts. An included session is counted when you book, and it is returned to the period the session sat in if you cancel.

What happens to my bookings if my membership ends?

Bookings that used a session included in your membership are cancelled if the session is after your membership ends, and you will get an email about each one. Anything extra you paid on those bookings is refunded. Sessions before your membership ends are not affected, and if you cancel, your membership keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for.

How does my membership apply when I book?

Sign in with the email address your membership is under and book as normal. Your membership is applied automatically at checkout. One included session covers up to 2 spaces on the same booking, and any spaces beyond that are charged at the usual price.

How do I change or cancel my membership?

Go to your account page and open Manage payment to see your subscription. If you cannot make the change you need there, contact The Beacon.

Gift vouchers and Bundles

Can I buy a gift voucher?

Yes. Gift vouchers can be bought for The Beacon from the gift vouchers page. Pick a voucher, add a personal message, and the recipient receives a code by email that they redeem at checkout.

How do Bundles work?

A Bundle is a set of sessions bought up front at a lower price than booking them one at a time. Once you have bought one, it is applied automatically when you book an eligible session while signed in with the same email address.

Waivers

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes. Every session asks you to agree to a waiver. For some, you read and agree once when you book and that covers the spaces on your booking. For others everyone attending signs their own, and you get a link and a QR code you can share with the rest of your group.

Which waiver applies, and who signs it, depends on the session too.
