A session charges the same price at every time it runs, so off-peak pricing is set up one of three ways. Pick the one that matches how you want to sell it:
- A cheaper off-peak session - everyone pays less at quieter times, with no code. Best for a regular weekly pattern.
- A cheaper price on chosen dates - for a handful of dates, such as a quiet week in January.
- Off-peak codes, bundles and member rates - one session and one price, with the saving for people who have a code, a bundle or a membership.
Run a cheaper off-peak session
Split your schedule into two sessions: your main one at peak times and a copy at off-peak times with the lower price. Both show in your schedule, so customers see the off-peak price on those times.
- 1Open the Session types view on your sessions page, open your main session's ⋯ menu and select Duplicate. The copy arrives as "(copy)", set to Direct link only, with the same schedule and prices.
- 2Open the copy. Rename it, such as "Off-peak sauna", and change the price under Prices & offers. See price options.
- 3In the copy's Schedule, remove the peak times so only off-peak times are left (see repeat schedules).
- 4Under Visibility, set the placement to In the calendar and select Save & close.
- 5Open your main session and remove the off-peak times from its Schedule, so the two don't run at the same time.
Removing a time from a session cancels and refunds every upcoming booking on it. Before anything is cancelled, Session lists who would be refunded and asks you to type CANCEL. If people are booked, select Go back. Leave those times on the main session until their bookings have passed, or move the customers to the off-peak session first.
Memberships, bundles and gift vouchers cover the copy just as they cover the main session. To change that, set it in the copy's Prices & offers panel.
Charge less on chosen dates
To lower the price on a few dates, open each date on the admin calendar, select Edit this session and re-price it under Prices for that date alone. See change a single session. Each date is changed one at a time, so for a pattern that repeats every week, use an off-peak session instead.
Offer off-peak codes and member rates
Set your quieter times once in Settings → Policies under Off-peak times: pick the days and a From and To, add more rows for different times, and save. The row suggests your quietest times from recent bookings.
These times then appear as an option wherever you limit an offer by time:
- Discount codes - choose Off-peak times under Dates and times.
- Memberships - set When the member rate applies to Off-peak times for an off-peak member rate.
- Bundles - set Days and times to Off-peak times so credits only cover quieter sessions.
Each offer saves its own copy of the times, so changing Off-peak times later doesn't change offers you've already made.
Common questions
-
Can one session charge less at certain times automatically? No. A session's price is the same at every time it runs. Use an off-peak session for a regular pattern.
-
I re-priced a date, but customers still pay the normal price. On a session with lengths, every start time charges the session's prices, and a price set for one date doesn't apply. Use an off-peak session instead.
-
Can I show peak and off-peak as two prices on the same session? You can add an "Off-peak" price option, but customers can choose it at any time. Price options suit who is booking, such as a concession, not when.
-
Does an off-peak time count by when the session starts or ends? By its start, in your venue's time zone. Off-peak times of 9am to 4pm cover a 3:30pm session but not a 4pm one.
-
Will my members and bundle holders still be able to book off-peak? Yes. A duplicated session keeps the same membership and bundle settings as the session it was copied from.
