Limited and fixed-length memberships

Cap how many people can join a membership, and sell one-off memberships that end after a set number of months - like a winter offer with 20 places.

Who can do this: admins only 2 min read

Both settings are on the membership itself, under Offers → Memberships. Use them together for an offer like "20 places, 6 months, 4 sessions a month".

Limit how many people can join

Under Limits and visibility → Availability, choose Limited and enter how many members the tier can have at once.

  • When it's full, the tier still shows on your members page, marked as full, and no one new can join it.
  • Existing members are never removed. A place frees up when someone's membership ends.
  • Members on other tiers can't switch into a full tier with Change plan.
  • Set it to 0 to close a tier to new members without affecting the people already on it.

If two people pay for the last place at the same moment, both get in and you're sent an email, so you can raise the limit or refund one of them.

Sell a one-off membership that ends

Choose One-time billing so people pay once. Then, under Length, choose Ends after and enter a number of months. Each member's membership runs for that long from the day they join, and their benefits stop on their own at the end.

  • Members see the end date on their account page and in their confirmation email.
  • Free sessions per Month count from the day each member joins, not the 1st. Joining on 15 October, their months run 15 October to 14 November, and so on, so a 6-month membership gives exactly 6 months of sessions.
  • Free sessions can't be booked for dates after a member's end date. They can still book at the normal price.
  • One-off memberships are joined from your members page. They aren't offered at checkout.
  • Changing the length only affects people who join afterwards.

Ending one early

Open the member's card in Customers and choose End membership, then End now. To give their money back as well, use Refund a payment. See manage members.
