Selling shorter sessions
Sell shorter and longer slots inside the same session, sharing one total capacity. Customers pick a length and a slot, and the system rebalances availability as bookings come in.
What you can do with it
Offer multiple durations of the same session, like a 60-minute slot AND a 30-minute slot in the same room
Stop turning customers away when one duration sells out before the other - all durations share the same capacity
Mix full and part bookings on one calendar without splitting your schedule
Let customers pick which half of the session they want - first half or second half - right on the booking page
How it works
The capacity you set for a session is shared across every duration enabled on it. A 60-minute booking takes one space for the whole hour. A 30-minute booking takes one space for either the first half or the second half. So a 1-hour session with 10 spaces can fit any mix that adds up: 10 full-hour bookings, or up to 10 first-half + 10 second-half bookings, or anything in between.
Full session - covers the entire session. This is the default for every existing price, so nothing changes unless you opt in.
Half session - covers half the session. 30 minutes on a 60-minute session, 45 minutes on a 90-minute session.
We'll add more options (quarter, third, two-thirds) in future updates.
Set it up
Go to Billing, then Prices, then click Add price (or edit an existing price)
Set the new Duration field to Half session
Set the name, price, and spaces as usual, then save
Open any session where you want to offer it
Toggle the new price on under Prices and save - that's it
The session now offers both durations. Customers see one card per price on the booking page, with a stepper for each available half-hour window.
Admins & staff will see which window a part-session booking is assigned to.
Tips
Set the total capacity, not the half-session capacity. All durations draw from the same pool, so you don't need to carve it up - we balance the rest.
Session length must divide cleanly. Half-session bookings need a session length that's a multiple of 30 minutes (60, 90, 120). If you have a 75-minute session, half-session won't fit.
Window changes aren't supported on the modify flow. If a customer needs to switch from first half to second half, cancel the booking and rebook.
Mixed-duration carts are fine. A family of four can book one full-hour spot and three half-session spots in the same cart.
